Hey, I’m Brady. On paper, I’m an electrical engineering student at Northwestern. In practice, I’m an artist who treats engineering disciplines — all of them — as a means, not an end.

Our institutions love putting boxes around people: “he’s a MechE, he can’t code,” “she’s a ChemE, don’t make her draw schematics.” Intentional or not, this trains people to stop exploring beyond their labels — and that’s where most of the interesting work actually happens.

Mind you, I’m not condemning specialization; deep expertise is how real things get built and shipped. I do believe, though, in a world where tools of automation are abundant and problems are messy across disciplines, knowing what to build, and why, is the real skill. That’s the art I’m practicing.

Outside of engineering, I enjoy singing with my a cappella group, hostel hopping, producing EDM music, and keeping pet ant colonies (ask me about it).
