BUCK is a cement bucket drummer robot that my team and I built over my sophomore year of highschool. The lack of good funding meant we had to be extremely efficient with parts sourcing, and we ended up spending under 150 USD for the entire project.
It featured 8 relay-driven solenoids operated by an arduino leonardo. 8 LED strips were located inside the bucket and can be independently controled through MIDI signals. The latency is about 100ms, which was good enough for our purposes. The robot performed live 3 times at various highschool events.
